PRESCHOOL

4 years old and under


PETITE

5 - 6 years old


MINI

7 - 8 years old


JUNIOR

9 - 11 years old


INTERMEDIATE

12 - 14 years old


SENIOR

15 - 19 years old


HIGH SCHOOL

Dancers on a high school dance team. These dancers cannot participate under another studio or team name at the same competition.

*All Highschool routines must be registered in the 

Pro-Am division.


VARSITY

Dancers on a university dance team or in a collegiate dance program. These dancers cannot participate under another studio or team name at the same competition.

*All Varsity routines must be registered in the 

Pro-Am division.


ADULT

18+ years old or routines with graduated dancers, professionals, or teachers participating. These dancers cannot participate under another studio or team name at the same competition.

*All Adult routines must be registered in the 

Pro-Am division.

A dancer’s competition age is determined by their age as of 

January 1, 2027.


For routines, please calculate the average competition age of all dancers as of January 1, 2027 and then round down to the nearest whole number. 


For example: An average of 11.6 rounds down to 11, placing the routine in the Junior age division.

DIVISIONS

NOVICE (First-Time)

  • This must be the dancers' first competition season ever, no prior competition experience is allowed in the Novice level. 
  • All dancers in a Novice level routine must be 14 years old or under (Preschool to Intermediate ages max).
  • Novice level routines cannot include Pre-Competitive or Competitive Level 1 or 2 dancers. 


PRE-COMPETITIVE

  • Dancers who train up to 6 hours per week total. This total must include all technical and choreographic training hours per week combined. 
  • Dancers with 2 or 3 years of competition experience max.
  • Pre-Competitive level routines may include a mix of Novice and Pre-Competitive dancers. 
  • Pre-Competitive level routines cannot include Competitive Level 1 or 2 dancers. 


COMPETITIVE LEVEL 1

  • Dancers who train 6-9.75 hours per week total. This total must include all technical and choreographic training hours per week combined. 
  • Competitive Level 1 routines may include a mix of Novice, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive Level 1 and 2 dancers. 


COMPETITIVE LEVEL 2

  • Dancers who train 10+ hours per week total. This total must include all technical and choreographic training hours per week combined. 
  • Competitive Level 2 routines may include a mix of Novice, Pre-Competitive, Competitive Level 1 and 2 dancers. 


PRO-AM

  • Routines with dancers who are 19+ years old.
  • Routines with professionals or teachers participating.
  • Routines from a high school or varsity dance team.
  • Dancers in a Pro-Am routine cannot participate under another studio or team name at the same competition.
  • Routines with even one Pro-Am dancer in it must be registered in the Pro-Am division.
  • Pro-Am routines cannot quality for top studio titles. 


INSPIRING ARTISTS

  • This division is for performers with physical or developmental disabilities. 
  • This division is designed to highlight each dancer’s unique strengths, creativity, and passion for movement. 
  • No score is given. All dancers receive a trophy, positive feedback, and recognition.
